HEWAD Institute for Development Studies and Project Sciences was established in response to this reality. The Institute was founded with the belief that sustainable development and recovery depend on practical education, applied knowledge, and skilled professionals who are equipped to respond to real challenges on the ground. Our focus is therefore on technical, vocational, and professional education that connects theory with practice and responds directly to labor market and development needs.
Through HEWAD Institute, we aim to prepare Afghan youth and professionals with the skills, ethical values, and practical competencies required in sectors such as urban development, construction, infrastructure, environmental management, water engineering, and industrial production. We place strong emphasis on hands-on learning, field exposure, and applied research to ensure that education leads to meaningful employment and professional growth.
HEWAD Institute operates under a valid license and national accreditation in Afghanistan and maintains an international outlook through its registration in the United States and partnerships with academic, research, and development institutions. As a sister organization of the Afghan Center for Urban Studies and Municipal Affairs (ACUSMA), the Institute benefits from applied research and consulting experience that informs its training programs and institutional approach.
Our commitment is to quality, integrity, and relevance. We seek to work collaboratively with students, educators, industry partners, development organizations, and public institutions to support skills development, institutional capacity, and long-term resilience.
I invite students, professionals, partners, and development stakeholders to engage with HEWAD Institute as we work together to strengthen human capital and contribute to Afghanistan’s recovery and sustainable development.
